Dr. Nomita Chandhiok, an Obstetrician/Gynecologist is former Senior Deputy Director General at Indian Council of Medical Research, the apex biomedical research organization and advisory body to the government of India. She is an accomplished researcher with a keen interest in public health and extensive experience of over 35 years in leading and spearheading country wide research on RMNCAH and HIV/AIDS prevention technologies aimed at improving public health outcomes in India. Results of several of her studies addressing the high maternal mortality and morbidity in India have been translated into policy. Passionate about RMC implementation, she developed the facilitators manual and conducted ToT and mentoring trainings on RMC for Master trainers and health care providers across 6 states in India. Besides being a member of several international advisory groups, professional bodies and Task Force committees of Health ministry and other scientific organizations, Dr. Chandhiok is a senior consultant to ICMR, Centre for Catalyzing Change, Ramaiah International Centre for Public Health Innovations, Mamta HIMC, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research and Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health. She has over 90 publications in peer reviewed journals.
